C.A. 3917/14.
Sir,
30th January 1915.
With reference to Mr. Read's letter of the 3rd December (44962/1914), I am directed by the Board of Education to state that two candidates for the post of Assistant Master in the Education Department of Hong Kong were interviewed by the Selection Committee on the 27th January, but the Committee decided not to recommend either of these candidates for the appointment, Dr. Jordan and Mr. F.W.Cape, H.M. Inspector, were members of the Selection Committee on this occasion.
Very few candidates applied as the result of the recent advertisement, and the Board are of opinion
that a suitable candidate is not likely to be
forthcoming in the immediate future. They propose
however to repeat the advertisement towards the end of
the current school term and to hold an interview
towards the middle of March of any suitable persons who
have applied by then. I am to inquire whether this
course would meet with the approval of the Secretary of
State for the Colonies.

I am,
Sir,
Your obedient Servant,
F. Frank Feathe
